PostSubject: Spark Jr. vs. Xerxes;;   Sat Aug 27, 2016 3:44 pm

"Thank God."

The weather was starting to turn, and for this he was grateful. Even sitting there with the sun beating down on his back, he could feel it was cooler than days passed. Still, his robe clung to his back, bathed in sweat. It was a ratty old thing, discolored from dust and travel, stained from the hard use of its short lifespan. Spark Jr had gotten it for him in some market or another a couple months back. It was two sizes too big, but at least he could wear it, and it hadn't had any holes. His sister had done a good job patching up what rips and tears it did accumulate, and when he folded his arms and ran his calloused fingertips along the coarse material of the sleeves, he could feel the rough texture of where she'd mended a hole: here, with a bit of cotton; here a bit of felt; here, even, a small scrap of leather sewn in. He didn't really mind how silly it must have looked. He even kind of liked having all those different materials to touch at, to pick at and fiddle with. Especially during times like these, when all he could do otherwise was sit and wait.

So wait and sit he did, arms folded, fingers plucking at the Flying Thunder God Seal wrapped around his Sourusōdo. If hard-pressed, he wouldn't have been able to say with any real certainty how long it was before he heard the footfalls crunching behind him. They'd picked a good time to invade, he and his father; he was seated across a petrified fallen log in a field of things turned stone. There was a lot of grit and gravel surrounding him, making it all but impossible for would-be sneaks to creep up without him hearing. "Boy." The voice came from behind him, a little to the left. He furrowed his brow, focusing, and thought he could hear the distinct footfalls of another approaching from his right flank. Two, then? Maybe three? He didn't turn to investigate. His left hand lowered slowly to the hard material of his Sourusōdo's (Soul Sword) handle , clutching at it lightly.

"Boy," The voice spoke again, a little more harsh. He sounded thirsty to Spark, like he hadn't had enough to drink maybe all his life, or maybe that he had smoked too many cigarettes and it had started to take root and grow in his throat, like older folks always warned would happen if you started smoking that stuff. "What are you doing out here all alone?" Spark could track the sound of his voice easily enough, and figured the man was circling around him now, coming from behind to stand in front of him. "What's a boy," He continued, and then cut off abruptly. There was a sharp, snort of harsh laughter as he corrected himself: "What's a blind boy doing out here all by himself?" Spark lifted his head, turning it as if he could see the man. He'd been taught that it was polite to "look" at someone while you were speaking... even if he couldn't really see them at the moment. "I'm not alone."

There was a pause. The man in front of Spark glanced behind him, towards his partner, brows raised inquisitively. The other man only shrugged and began to peer around warily. "I'm with my father," Spark clarified, knowing that this would more than likely make them lower whatever guard they had started to raise. A blind boy and his father; not much of a threat, right? "I see!" The man exclaimed, and suddenly Spark felt a weight settle down next to him. The man sat beside him, and the boy couldn't help but flinch lightly when he felt the stranger's arm drape over his shoulders. "Well it wouldn't be right of us to leave you here all by yourself while you're waiting, now, would it?" It wasn't cigarettes this man smoked; Spark could smell the distinct, sickly-sweet scent of Marijuana,  he did his best not to gag. He turned his head away and suppressed a shudder. Everyone said that stuff would turn your gums green and make your teeth fall out, and even if that weren't true, the smell alone made him wonder why anyone would ever wanna chew or smoke that rot.

"Hands off me." He didn't even need to make this command, as the man who'd been uncomfortably close to him was already on his feet, on the move. He readied his Sourusōdo, aiming for his distended belly, straining, sweating. The man gasped and jerked. His next blow was aimed for his knee, and there was a very audible snapping sound as the bone shattered. The man succumbed to his own weight, howling in pain, and he quickly went the way of his partner, screaming turned to gasping and choking and then to silence. Once, twice. Three times he cut through him with the Katana, until the metallic sides were coated in blood. "What can I say... I'm a savage."Throughout the vicious killings of the men, Spark still somehow managed to remain seated on his log, his left hand clutching at the stony bark, nails clawing at the hard material. He didn't think he'd ever get used to those sounds. There would always be something chilling about hearing bones crunch, or the wet sound his blade made when it began cutting at truly dead, bloodied flesh. No matter how excited he was whenever they went to war, he always lost his appetite by the end of it. He gave an involuntary shrug and slipped his Sourusōdo back into its sheath, hearing a quiet -click-.

Now he could see. It was, of course, pretending the entire time to get rid of the guards, but he could see. The grass was brittle and dry, scratchy against his belly as he skulked about. He felt his ears swiveling like radar dishes, the kinds you could see on really old towers who hadn't yet succumb to scavenging or the elements. The smells were overwhelming. Dust and sweat and blood and ozone; a storm wasn't far off, good, maybe it would cool things down even more, maybe he could collect some water tonight if he didn't reach the village before dusk. It didn't turn out to be much of an escape: the sounds of the blade slicing through the men so savagely was even more clear now. The smell of blood was overwhelming, and he felt himself starting to salivate. He was hungry too, he guessed. Even Elementals had to eat, and he hadn't been getting much food since he decided to venture out to Amegakure.

"Hm." Spark said as he stood. His hands slipped down to the rope wrapped around his waist, adjusting the tightness. "Maybe it'll hold off 'til I get there." He said, looking towards the sky as he ran towards the village. Hold off it did. As the sun began to set over the western horizon, those still fortunate enough to be capable of sight were robbed of their sunset as dark clouds rolled in to obscure the view. Thunder roared threateningly in the distance, just as he managed to make it through the gates of the village. Truly, they weren't much of 'gates'. The entire village was encircled with a plethora of skyscrapers, made of various  metals; Clearly, this village had been modernized. Whether intentional or not, the tops of the skyscrapers making up the village were all jagged, sharp, as if to ward off intruders. Even so, the gates allowing access to the village were opened and barely guarded. There were no weapon checks, no pat-downs for "illegal" substances; they were far away enough from Planet E to not have to worry about the law, and far enough away from the main roads of travel in the Wastelands to have to worry about gang assaults or turf wars. This was, like so many other villages scattered throughout the Five Great Nation, a simple kill count to add to the list. "Come out, village leader!" He shouted.

A blue aura began to engulf the blade as if it were fire, energy building up, and soon after, lightning came, a brilliant shock of white in the graphite sky, forking silently to the unsuspecting ground - the thunderous boom always calling its warning too late. Another hand gripped on his Elemental blade, as he prepared to wreak havoc.

A raging tempest, hypnotic and terrifying. Furious bolts of blue and red lightning streaking in and out of view nearly faster than the eye can see. Truly the sight could drive a brave man to utter terror, but to view it properly, one would have to be far too close to this strange being to feel very brave in the first place. It was his eyes, streaks of blue and red flashing across the whites so quickly it portayed a constant, flickering, luminescent effect. For one to stare too long was to invite one's mind to wander into a place from which it could never return. The flickering glow illuminated pale skin covering strong, vaguely alien bones. The face was handsome, yet fearsome. Scarcely a flaw marked the strange being's attractive features, but for a scar which started upon his shaven cheek and led underneath a mass of unkempt, middle-lenth hair which blackness seemed to pull in what light which had the misfortune of being splayed across it like a black hole.
The being's clothes matched in color and effect his hair. This was no accident, ancient Kakkarites often produced vast fields of energy while at rest and so garbed the Kahi garments, a soft material which did little but absorb uncontrolled energy. The being, no mere ancient, but former head of the Kakkarian Templars, had the Templar armguards also clasped over the long sleeves of his Kahi shirt. These arm guards were, in addition to being extremely durable, posessed of a similar energy absorption ability, only these and the three foot circular fields they could produce were designed to counter kinetic energy whilst being scarcely affected by any other form. Besides the belt and sheath, which consisting of similar color though much harder material, his Kahi was joined by leg guards and boots of the same make and effect as his arm guards.
Szek Mas, ancient, feared, and quite insane, had resigned his post in the Templars and the Kakkarian Army several decades prior, yet the sword which had tasted seas of blood in his planet and Empire's name hung at his hip still. It was a truly terrible weapon, for should Szek allow even a tiny portion of the energy within him to trickle through, the blade would amplify its effect many times over. This trait caused the deadly weapon to radiate such thermal heat as to melt many metals like butter in a single blow. Beyond this, the telekinetic energy the blade commanded was yet more terrifying in potential. With the sword, Szek had rained destruction on many a planet for many centuries. Energy itself was at his command, from within or without, and having mastered this, Mas had ascended from a mere warrior to a masterful painter of destruction, and his powerful hand now rested upon his sheathed paintbrush. It was a good thing indeed that almost no form of energy, other than kinetic, could harm a Kakkarite, else the power of the weapon would destroy the weilder as well as his victims.
Though more often than not he and his weapon had been unleashed in just cause, many millions loathed the fearsome sight of that famous, silver colored sword. The Kakkarites, famed for their inherit mastery of energy manipulation as well as their martial skill and physical prowess, were at the core of one of the most powerful Empires ever to have stretched across the stars. The typical Kakkarite had the physical power to lift over a thousand pounds while weighing little themselves. This muscular power enabled them to be incredibly fast as well. Were the Kakkarite to truly master the control of the vast tempests of energy within them, the physical ability they would posess was mind numbing. These traits set them apart in the evolutionary ladder as a people and as an Empire. They had obliterated their would be opponents for hundreds of thousands of years, supreme in their natural ability, skill, and knowledge.
Szek was no average Kakkarite. Born of common blood, orphaned as a boy, the great power within him had been seen instantly. A hard life of training as a Templar had perfected his mastery of himself and his skills as much as any Templar ever had. Thousands upon thousands of years later, the Kakkarite no longer sought the destruction and violence his life had for so long consisted of, yet it always seemed to find him. His strong fingers slid reluctantly apart from the hilt of his mug as powerful legs took his two hundred pounds of weight. Szek was not especially tall at six foot one, yet even he was required to stoop through the doorway as he exited the little shack he had been given. His every movement had a strange air of perfectedly effecient grace which appeared almost robotic yet entrancing at the same time. One foot slicing casually through the air before resting silently on the ground after another as he brought himself into view a good fifty feet away from the shouting man. Being a being which required no air to live, Szek finally allowed his lips to part. "I'm afraid the Village Leader is ill disposed at this time. Whatever issue you have," the being's terrible eyes flickered to the man's sword as he silently unsheathed his own, "May be taken up with me."

It was considered the destructive aftermath of the awakening of the Sourosodo itself. They'd trained together since birth, Spark Jr. and Arashi. Spark knew him better than the back of his hand, it seemed. And X? Well, let's just say that the Sourosodo trained X whilst it was very young as well. Such was the belief, at least. The power to manipulate earth came with a small price, however. X needed to prepare his power, to make it last and to make his attacks more efficient. It wasn't long before it caught onto the scent of the male, and reacted on its own. The rain, the monstrous winds, and the lightning? It was all part of the reason why, in English, Arashi's name meant "Storm". Lightning came, a brilliant shock of white in the graphite sky, forking silently to the unsuspecting ground - the thunderous boom always calling its warning too late. Just when Spark's eyes had adjusted to the darkening countryside, the steel grey clouds melting into the newly monochromatic landscape, there came a brilliant flash that flickered and died. It was not a bolt, streaking to earth, but more like an almighty camera flash that blanketed everything at once. Moments later there came the rumbling thunder and right on cue the rain began to fall haphazardly from the sky as if it wasn't entirely committed to the idea of raining. Then all at once it fell in great sheets and there was nowhere to hide. Another flash burned into his dilated pupils followed hotly by its cracking boom.  Streaks of pure white crackled against a stormy blanket of grey, shrouding hot silver clouds with its blinding incandescence, emanating the might of an imminent tempest. Jagged bolts endlessly protrude, filling the sky with undying flashes of radiance. It seemed to bend towards Spark's physique, intending to strike him and charge his E-Mode transformation. That was the power of the Sourosodo. However, the preparations for the Soul Sword were complete, and the two transformations began both with little knowledge pertaining to Spark. He would only absorb some of it, and break down the energy, purging the energy of outside influences, and stabilizing the plasma before reducing it back to a gas. He was going to utilize the electrons for more energy and use his EM field to absorb the lightning. It would supercharge him, and force a metamorphosis just at the start of the match. His muscle mass, and other biological functions were increased as a lightning bolt-like mark appeared across his eye. The boy was now built like a wild animal, his chest muscles bulging and his biceps balls of strength. Even his short legs were swelling with muscle. His base speed was 1900 mph, achieved through what is known as the light array which surrounds his body in a constant swirling and re-enforcing motion. This is considered to be one of the most passive abilities of an Elemental of that type. They use this bio-electric field in order to nullify speed resistance factors such as gravity, air resistance, friction and the rest. It allows him to move at speeds approaching light or with enough preparations? Light itself. Considering that he'd just gone through a transformation, that base speed went from 1900 to 3000 mph. That's how vastly it affected his body. As the Sourosodo's energy began to form another field around the male's body, Spark knew what the sentient blade's strategy had been. He intended for him to go E-Mode and Mask mode to increase speed, strength, reaction time, and other biological functions 30 times over. A mask began to form around the male's face, resembling that of Ichigo Kurosaki's hollow mode. The preparations had been done in a matter of seconds, and not even that. He turned around towards the male as his face moved a little too slowly, as he was taking in the surroundings more than anyone else. Then he grinned. As he did so the temperature of the battlefield fell a little. Even in the dim light of the stormy day, the villagers saw his bared teeth. It was a Cheshire grin of sorts, the kind that was so wide it was more as if he wanted to eat everyone rather than say hello. He unsheathed the Sourosodo, before weighing the sword in his right hand, slashing it delicately at the air with a novice-like apprehension, and as he did so the reflection of the clear water danced warmly within the cool steel. The handle of the sword was bound with black leather, the hilt decorated yet understated, and the blade was somewhat long [6 feet]. Spark knew little about swords, but he was certain that Spark [Sr.] had once told him this type of sword was a Soul Sword. His opponent sat idly by, only a little bit more than 40 feet away. No matter. He was one of many contingencies. He tossed the sword at the male, towards that of his abdomen area, at speeds unimaginable to human eyes [3,000 metres per second]. It didn't disintegrate due to the aura that surrounded it; It worked in the same way that the EM field that surrounds spark. It nullifies speed resistors to increase momentum and have effective attacks. He held his hand outward as if he were grasping for air with his own hand. Tor gathered up into his hand, resembling lightning, although it was something much greater. It was an attack known only to a few. A bolt of black hot lightning broke the utter blackness, cleaving the night in parts, but just for the briefest of moments.

The Kakkarian was too ancient to allow his amusement to show. His incredibly deft feet had carried his lithe body to the right and out of the path of the massive sword. As he did so, he unleashed trickles of energy into several places. The first was his limbs, the opening of a process which would allow quicker enhancement of speed and strength should it become necessary. The second was his sword. Bright blue and dark red energy played spiraling circles down the deadly blade, the slightest bit of energy empowered by the mighty weapon. The perfectly formed muscles in Szek's legs flexed powerfully as their strength and speed were put to use. Szek's grace and skill was so obviously flawless as the alien being moved forward towards the other, casually passing the limits of the human eye's ability to follow. His left hand sliced through the air as he passed the opponent's sword, stopping mere inches from the hilt as Szek extended his telekinetic grip. A field of his telekinetic energy would wrap around the sword in an imprisoning grasp, followed immediately by a field of which Szek stripped all energy, followed by a field of the energy which Szek had stripped. The result would be a useless, floating sword, capable of neither giving nor receiving power or influence. Szek had not slowed down in the slightest during this process, but continued to move forward towards his opponent at an incredible speed. As he would near sword striking range, a casual thought activated the Templar armguards, the shields forming near instantly as his powerful wrist slipped the deadly blade of his own weapon through the air, raising it diagonally in front of him, pointed slightly forward, as the Kakkarian used his powerful legs and a small bit of telekinetic energy to kill his momentum within perfect striking range. Should the opponent have foolishly failed to avoid this attack, the blade would whistle through the air to tear his body asunder from his right shoulder to the top of his ribs.
